VirtuCard FAQ
VirtuCard is a prepaid, stored value, reloadable and refundable virtual card which operates through one of the two major, global, card systems. It can be used at websites, online merchants, internet shops & web stores over the Internet where payment by a major card is accepted.
How do I purchase a VirtuCard?Simply click on Order link in the menu above. There are several ways you can pay for your new VirtuCard. We accept c-gold, eCache and Pecunix Digital Gold Currencies (DGC), USD cash and most USD denominated money orders.
If you do not yet have an account with a DGC you will need to open one before you can fund with it. (Please see these tutorials if you need information about how to open a DGC account.) You can find a list of convenient and competitive gold currency exchangers here.
How do I receive my VirtuCard?VirtuCards are sent via email. All you need to have is an email address.
What information regarding my new VirtuCard will be sent by email?- - 12-digit Transaction/Identification number
- - 16-Digit VirtuCard card number
- - 3-digit CW2 - three digit number normally found on the back of a credit card, also called the verification code.
-
- unlinQ's Authorized Cardholder's name, address and telephone number (not your name, address or telephone number)
How long does it take to receive my VirtuCard?
When funded with one of the accepted digital gold currencies order processing normally takes between 4 hours (during business hours, Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, U.S. Eastern time zone, except for bank holidays) and two business days (outside our business hours, Sat-Sun) after payment has been received by our staff.
Payment using money orders require about 3-5 business days for funding.
-
These timeframes do not include any time taken for a payment to reach us or collection by our staff.
- Can I reload my card?
-
Cards that are still active (those that still have a positive balance and have not expired) can be reloaded by supplying us with identifying information (either the Transaction ID assigned by unlinQ when the card was originally funded or the VirtuCard's card number). See the VirtuCard Order page for current fees. See the Terms and Conditions page.
- Can I get a refund?
- For active cards (those that still have a positive balance and have not expired) you can obtain a refund to a Digital Gold account, wire transfer or accept the refund in the form of a check drawn on a U.S. bank and paid in USD (the check can be mailed anywhere). Refunds cannot be made until all pending transactions on your card are indicated as settled by our bank (this can take up to about one week from last the transaction). NO REFUNDS ON INACTIVE/EXPIRED CARDS. See the VirtuCard Order page for current fees. See the Terms and Conditions page.
- What denomination cards are available?
-
With VirtuCard you can specify the exact amount you wish funded or reloaded. You can avoid waste.
- Is there any monthly maintenance fee?
-
No.
- What are the funding fees?
-
Please see our Fee Schedule on the VirtuCard Order page.
No. You're thinking of a debit card. Virtual credit cards are used at on-line merchants.
What is the maximum amount I can load the card with?Currently, USD 2000.
What is the maximum I can spend at one time? Also, USD 2000.
Can I fund VirtuCard with my credit card? Not at this time.
What if I lose my access information (VirtuCard? and order numbers)? We can re-send your access data to the e-mail address specified at the time of original funding. A customer service fee applies. See the Terms and Conditions page.
Can I have more than 1 card?Yes.
Do I get a discount for buying more than 1 card? No. Our prices are rock-bottom. Our goal is QUALITY, the BEST virtual card. Please note our prices WILL ALMOST CERTAINLY RISE. It is extremely difficult to provide a highly private virtual credit card, considering regulations, the banking system and so on.
Can I add value to an already issued card?See reloading
Where are the issuing banks based?Currently in the U.S.
- What is the validity/expiry of VirtuCard?
-
The default expiry on a VirtuCard is two months from date of issuance. To extend the use of your funds, you may transfer the unused balance of an unexpired card to a new VirtuCard. See the VirtuCard Order page for current fees. See the Terms and Conditions page.
Yes. Each VirtuCard is issued to one of a group of unlinQ Authorized Cardholders. You must use the Authorized Cardholders name, which we supply at the time of your order fulfilment, with each VirtuCard transaction.
Will the card work with any on-line merchant accepting credit cards? Most, but not all.
U.S. banks now screen for OFFSHORE GAMBLING sites and MONEY SERVICES (except, so far, Western Union) that focus on the gambling market and WILL DECLINE these TRANSACTIONS (if you have any question whether your VirtuCard will be accepted at a merchant please check the Problem Merchant List before submitting the card for processing).
Some merchants will only deliver to the billing address of the Authorized Cardholder (they will reveal to you that they use this restriction while you are completing the payment instructions and before you submit the transaction for processing). Since you are not the Authorized Cardholder YOU CANNOT PAY SUCH MERCHANTS with VirtuCard.
Some merchants require proof of identity (image of credit card, driver's license or other national identity card) be sent to them. Since the nicknames associated with unlinQ's VirtuCards are fictious and no physical card matching the virtual card numbers provided by unlinQ was ever produced creating and presenting these to a merchant might even be illegal (fraud). YOU CANNOT PAY SUCH MERCHANTS with VirtuCard.
Some merchants will not allow transactions from known PROXIES. See the Problem Merchant List.
How many times may I use a VirtuCard?
There is no set limit to the number of times you may use a VirtuCard?. However, a VirtuCard may only be used with THE FIRST MERCHANT to who it is presented. Once presented to a merchant for processing, even if it's declined, it can only be used from then on with that merchant. This is why its important to only use the VirtuCard with merchants who will not reject the card or will not have our bank reject (e.g., gambling and money transfer) the merchant.
If your VirtuCard is rejected you will need to transfer the balance to a new VirtuCard before you can use your funds. See our Fee Schedule on the Terms and Conditions page.
I tried using my card with a merchant but was declined, what do I do now?First, try to determine why you/card were rejected. Is the merchant on our Problem Merchant List?
Find out if the situation can be rectified (e.g., you were rejected because you tried to use a PROXY) by re-submitting your VirtuCard.
If there is no reasonable way to satisify the merchant and/or use VirtuCard with them, send us an email. We can issue another VirtuCard and transfer the balance. There is a small charge for each transfer. See the VirtuCard Order page for current fees.
Do I need to send you any ID?No. We will not request any personal information.
Do you report my transactions to anyone? No.
Do you guarantee the money?Your money is as safe as with our bank(s)
Can I load my card in any other ways, for example at a bank? No.
Do you pay interest?No.
Are you a bank?Of course not. We simply sell and distribute excellent major virtual credit cards, allow you to fund them using cash, digital gold or money orders, and offer you access to the credit card system using our incredible technology!
